Vintage 1931 photograph depicting life on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter many moons ago. The background showcases the "Old Absinthe Bar" painted mural advertisement on the side of a building which still stands today (minus the wonderful ad!) .


New Orleans was founded by Jean Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville, who founded La Nouvelle Orleans in 1718 and named it in honor of the Regent of France, Philippe, Duc d'Orleans.
