Cabrini High School was founded in 1959 on historic Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans, LA. Mother Cabrini was the founder of this important school. Her life holds lessons for young women the world over no matter what race or religion. At the age of 40, when she crossed the ocean for the first time to begin her work in America, she was the first woman to establish a missionary order of women; she was penniless, alone, and couldn't speak English. But without doubting herself, she pioneered the building of schools, hospitals, clinics and orphanages around the world. She was not satisfied with simply establishing facilities. She worked them by teaching English, encouraging immigrants to acquire their citizenship, and build new lives for themselves.
Mother Cabrini once said, "The greatest heritage to a girl is a good education."
