The Evacuation Route sign is an everyday symbol in Southeast Louisiana. I really never paid that much attention to them until Hurricane Katrina. In our region of Louisiana, we have to have a sense of humor about hurricanes to keep us sane. Some people think we are crazy to live in New Orleans, but we think people are crazy to want to live anywhere else! There are risks for natural disaster no matter where you call home.
